New year. Fresh ideas. A room full of curiosity.
Last week, EPSI Lille/Arras students visited us at Sogeti Lille. We hosted a hands-on Master Class on Testing, Quality, and GenAI.
And honestly? It was the perfect way to jump back in after the holidays.
The afternoon transformed into a vibrant mix of imagination, teamwork, and games. We also explored AI. This energy is exactly why I love this field.

1) We kicked off with imagination: If you ran a recruitment platform, what could go wrong?
Before talking tools or techniques, we opened the floor to creativity.
Students mapped out risks like data leaks. They also identified fake job listings, downtime, and broken journeys. The ultimate threat was 👉 losing user trust.
Risk‑based thinking is my favorite way to start. When you imagine what could collapse, you also understand what must be protected.

2) Then we reframed the real job: What does a tester actually do?
We broke the stereotype: a tester isn’t a button‑clicker.
A tester is a Quality Partner, a Risk Navigator, a Team Enabler.
Someone who sees the system as a whole, asks the sharp questions, and helps deliver value with confidence.
That shift in mindset changed the room.
3) Time to gamify: LEGO & 1001 Tests
No slides. No theory. Just doing.
🧱 LEGO challenge → understanding different testing types. Learning how to communicate and align with the team is crucial. Remove ambiguity to deliver the product to the PO. (I played the PO role :D)

🎲 1001 Tests → exploring creativity, testing perspectives & collaborative thinking
Games make learning playful, but they also reveal assumptions, gaps, and team dynamics faster than any lecture ever could.
The tables got loud… which is always a good sign. 😉

4) Mapping the testing landscape
Together, we identified the key testing families:
✔ Functional
✔ Negative
✔ Performance
✔ Security
✔ Usability
✔ Exploratory ..
Linking each type to risk and value helped students see testing as a strategic activity not a checklist.
5) Final sprint: Diving into GenAI with the CRAFTING AI framework
To wrap up, we ran a prompting workshop. Teams used CRAFTING AI to design prompts. These prompts generate meaningful test ideas from user stories. (https://craftingaiprompts.org/)
Context. Role. Format. Task.
Then Adapt, Improve, Interact, Stay Goal‑Driven.

This wasn’t “AI magic.”
It was critical thinking × AI augmentation.
And yes the best prompts won goodies (and glory).
The energy in that room was contagious. Everyone wanted to share their experience. They wanted to discuss running the prompts. They also learned about testing from different perspectives!

A personal moment ✨
Ten years ago, I was exactly where these students are now.
Discovering the world of testing, building my curiosity, trying, failing, trying again.
Seeing them step into our offices today felt like a full‑circle moment.
To every student reading this:
Stay curious. Stay playful. And always ask better questions.
Your future self will thank you.
Thank you 💙
A huge thank you to the EPSI students for their enthusiasm and creativity.
To Alexia Martin, Julien Houriez, Clémence Brisset, and everyone at Capgemini/Sogeti Lille who made this visit smooth and welcoming.
And to the alumni who walked the same path a decade ago, thank you for inspiring the next generation.
Can’t wait for the next Master Class 🚀
